Taib confident Sarawak will continue to be BN' fixed deposit'!

BEKENU: Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud is upbeat over the prospect of Sarawak delivering even more seats to Barisan Nasional in the next general election.

Although there is talk that the ruling Barisan may lose more seats in the coming polls, Taib said Sarawak would uphold its reputation as Barisan's "fixed deposit."

Taib, who is also the state Barisan chief, said he was confident Sarawak will deliver its current seats and additional "recovered seats".

He was speaking after the earth-breaking ceremony of the RM3mil multi-purpose market here Monday.

"We want to ensure that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak continues to support Sarawak and we will make sure he continues to lead by delivering even more seats than in the 2008 general election," Taib said.

Sarawak delivered 29 Barisan seats in 2008, losing to DAP in Bandar Kuching and Sibu.
