As of this morning, 13 police reports have been lodged in 8 police districts against 4 facebook account holders who were alleged to have made defamatory postings or comments regarding the passing of the late Chief Minister of Sarawak.
Investigation is being conducted on 4 of the reports.
On 12/1/17 at 12.05 am, one of the facebook account holders, a 54-year old male was arrested by CID Kuching in his home at RPR Landeh, Kuching. His mobile phone was seized for investigation purposes.
Sarawak Police would like to warn netizens to be in their best behaviour during this period of mourning. We are monitoring social media sites and will not hesitate to arrest anyone posting defamatory or inflammatory comments against the late Chief Minister or any other person for that matter.
